The United Colors of Beneton store is one of the places where people gather in any city in Italy. Originally founded by Luciano Benetton in Treviso, Italy in 1965, since there were many plain-colored knits at that time, Luciano's sister Giuliana was inspired by colorful knits and expanded.
UNITED COLORS OF BENETON products are mass-produced, so most of them are produced in Asia, but this one is made in Italy. It was a very rare item at that time.
Originally, Shetland knit is made by bundling various colored hairs in the process of making woolen yarn and knitting them. Therefore, if you look closely at the knit itself, the original Shetland knit is made up of a mixture of various colors. In recent years, the knits sold at certain select shops and fast fashion stores are knitted with single-colored yarn that has been dyed in advance to reduce the number of manufacturing processes, so the final knit is very plain. It will give you a sense of color. In this respect, there is a big difference between old knitwear sold at second-hand clothing stores and knitwear manufactured with a reduced number of processes.
Now, when I look at the knitwear I introduce while considering such a phenomenon, even though it is a border, it is composed of colors with a slight gradation, and the parts that are close to white have a little brown color. It gives depth. The border part is knitted in a different way, and the fluffiness that affects the texture of the knit, combined with the color, gives the knit depth.
